The Chemistry department offers two years masters course in Chemistry. The course has been designed with the aim of fulfilling the demands of trained human resource to give thrust to ever increasing chemical industry and related fields. The department has adopted the UGC Model Curriculum for this course, to enable its students to be absorbed in various institutions and industries in India and abroad. The group discussion, seminar, self study etc. are essential components of this course to enhance understanding of subject in depth to tackle problems independently and to adapt them to accept the new challenges in the thrust area of chemical science in present scenario. Apart from course curriculum, annual science quiz, extension lecturers, industrial visit, workshop and interaction with industry person are other important activities of the department. Successful students become professionally skilled and capable of being absorbed in academics, R&D, chemical industry, research institutions etc. Our department consists of 11 faculty members and more than 100 students including both previous and final year. The faculties are involved in the research projects and publishing their research work in the journal of national and international repute.
Department of Chemistry is one of the most progressive departments of Chaudhary Bansi Lal University starting from its initial intake of 30 seats which got doubled just within five years of its inception. We have dedicated faculty members to build an inclusive teaching-learning environment to develop proficient scholars in chemistry as per the requirement of academics and industry. Department currently offers M.Sc. Chemistry (2 years) in all the three branches; viz. Inorganic, organic and physical, 05-Year Integrated M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. Apart from this, we offer summer training program after the second semester so that students can acquire hands on experience through industrial exposure and become job ready. All the faculty members of the department are of high academic repute and thrust area of the faculties involves research in cutting edge fields. We have fully equipped laboratories with advanced facilities like UV-Visible spectrophotometer, ball mill etc. Department is going to have its own NMR spectrophotometer to further expedite the research in the department. We are committed to extend collaborations with various renowned institutions to further accelerate the research in the department. For the holistic intellectual development of the students, department frequently organizes various activities like extension lectures, workshops, conferences, seminars, quizzes and several other competitions etc. Besides this, Hobby Club, Open Elective Course, Self-study paper and Journal Club are some of the newer inclusions made in the syllabi which provide a more liberal and permissive atmosphere to the learners.

Course: M.Sc. Chemistry
Duration : 2 Years
Course Type : Post Graduation
The Department of Chemistry was founded in the year 2014 with an intake of 30 seats in M.Sc Chemistry with an aim to impart academic training as required by current industry and research environment and other associated fields. The number of seats was increased in the year 2015 to 45 and in 2018 to 60. The Department of Chemistry has well-equipped laboratories and highly competent and efficient faculty members with a strong commitment to teaching as well as research. Regular classes and practicals are a distinctive feature of the department. In addition to this, organization of workshops, seminars, conferences, annual quiz and extension lectures are regularly held for the proper grooming of students. The library is equipped with excellent collections of books and research journals and is often utilized by other science departments of the University. Our alumni have been placed at various reputed organizations and they are serving the society while some have cleared NET/JRF examination. The Chemistry Department is going to have its own Nuclear Magnetic Spectrophotometer (Bench-Top) to boost up the research. Apart from this, Department has started Summer-Training to provide a learning platform to the students where they can enhance their ability, skills and become job-ready. At present, the Department offers four-semester M.Sc. (Chemistry), Ph.D. (Chemistry) and five-Year Integrated M.Sc. Programmes.
We invite you to join us to achieve academic excellence and contribute to a better society
