Department of Biotechnology
The Department of Biotechnology, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University was established in the year 2014 under the faculty of Life Sciences. The Department offers masters as well as Ph.D. program in Biotechnology. Department provides the academic knowledge and research skills in the field of biotechnology and also developing entrepreneurial capabilities in the students. The objective of the department is to encourage the students to achieve great heights in science and contributing for the benefit of society. The educational environment of the Department is an excellent platform for students’ growth and enhances their interaction with the experienced and committed teaching faculties. It also blends classroom teaching with co-curricular activities that give the students an opportunity to showcase their talent and developing a better personality. In addition, it is also accountable for its quality research, and hands on training to the students in well-equipped laboratories. All faculty members are active in doing advance research. M.Sc. students do dissertation on several important research topics. The department regularly invites eminent scientists and academicians to deliver seminars on current topics of national importance to apprise the students and faculty members on recent advances related to the field of biotechnology.
Biotechnology is the modern branch of science that explores the technological revolution in biological processes for the benefit of the society. The well committed teaching faculties have created an excellent educational environment in the department that motivates students to explore the ‘World of Science’. The faculty members of the department are actively engaged in different areas of research that include bioinformatics, microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, and malaria disease transmission and prevention. At present different scholars are pursuing their doctoral research in these field. We believe in the holistic development of the students. The major objective of the department is to ignite the minds of young generation and developing leadership qualities so they can accelerate in science.

Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences with Chemistry as a subsidiary subject/ Agriculture Science/ Fisheries/ Horticulture/ B.Tech. (Food Technology)/ B.Tech. (Biotechnology)/ B.Sc. (Biotechnology)/ B.Sc. (Microbiology)/B.Sc. (Environmental Science)/ B.Sc. (Biomedical Engineering)/ B.Sc. (Biochemistry)/B.V. Sc./ B.E. (Technology)/ B.Pharma/ MBBS/ B.Sc. (Bioinformatics)/ B.Tech. or B.E. (Bioinformatics)/B.D.S. with at least 50% marks(47.50% in case of SC / ST / Blind / Visually/ Differently Abled etc. candidates) or any other examination recognized by State Universities of Haryana as equivalent thereto.
