Prof. R. K. Mittal,Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University is a noted economist and management educationist having thirty years of experience in teaching, research and academic administration in prestigious institutions of higher learning. He has been the founder Vice Chancellor of Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad (2008-13), Director – Development & NAAC/UGC Co-ordinator (2014-18) and Dean, University School of Management Studies (2005-08) at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Additionally, he has been the Dean of School of Education (2005-07), Dean of School of Humanities & Social Sciences (2005-07) at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and HOD/ Incharge of Department of Business Economics (1996-2000) at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar. In all these institutions Prof. Mittal has the privilege and unique distinction of working from their beginning thus understanding the process of institution building and contributing to their development. Professor Mittal holds Ph.D, M.Phil. M.A. (Economics) and B.Com. from Kurukskhetra University and subsequently obtained M.B.A. from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi. Prof. Mittal has teaching and research interests in areas of business environment, development issues & policies, competitiveness analysis, banking & financial institutions, managerial economics, leadership and managerial issues in organisations and institutions of higher learning. He has guided fifteen Ph.D. theses and about 150 M.B.A. projects while research work of other six Ph.D scholars is in progress. His passion for teaching and research is reflected in his publications (110 in national &international journals and conference proceedings), talks delivered (more than 100), cases written (6), consultancy projects handled (2) and prestigious workshops/conferences organised (more than 50). He has also co-edited six books on publication of proceedings of prestigious conferences in management and economics. Prof. Mittal is actively associated with academic bodies/associations such as Indian Economic Association, All India Management Association, Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management, NAAC and NBA. He is also in the management board/statutory bodies of various academic institutions. He has been to U.S.A., Japan and Nepal to present his research papers in various universities– Steven Institute of Technology, Hoboken (New Jersey), Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in U.S.A.; Graduate School of System Design &Management, Hiyoshi Campus, Keio University (Tokyo) in Japan and Tribhuvan University (Kathmandu) in Nepal. In recognition of his significant contribution to teaching, research and corporate life of the university, Prof. Mittal has been conferred with the Best Teacher Award in 2002 by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
